Manage task dependencies on the Gantt chart
View and understand task dependencies using connector arrows on the programme Gantt chart.
Audience
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the programme Gantt chart
Navigate to the programme view and open the Gantt chart so that your project tasks are displayed in a timeline.

Step 2: Identify dependency arrows between tasks
Look between tasks on the Gantt chart to see curved connector arrows that indicate dependency relationships across different rows and dates.

Step 3: Recognise forward and backward dependencies
Use the arrow direction to distinguish normal forward dependencies from backward dependencies that run to earlier tasks in the timeline.

Step 4: Hover over a task to highlight its dependencies
Move your pointer over a task bar to highlight its connected dependency arrows, making it easier to trace related tasks.
