Review task bars in the programme Gantt chart
Use the Gantt task bars to see task timing, baseline slippage, dependencies and status at a glance within the programme view.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the programme Gantt view
Navigate to the programme screen where the Gantt chart is displayed so you can see each task as a horizontal bar on its own row.

Step 2: Understand task timing and duration
Look along the timeline to see each task bar positioned between its start and end dates, using the bar length to understand task duration.

Step 3: Check baseline finish markers for slippage
Identify any tasks showing a small tick at the right edge which marks the original planned finish, and compare it to the current bar end to spot schedule slippage.

Step 4: Review task status and phase colouring
Use the bar colour and status icon, driven by the task’s phase and status, to quickly see which tasks are on track, at risk or in a particular phase.

Step 5: Highlight task dependencies by hovering
Move your pointer over a task bar to highlight that task and visually relate it to its predecessor and dependent tasks in the chart.

Step 6: Focus a task for more detail
Click a task bar to focus on that task and open any associated detail or side panel provided by the main programme screen.
