Merge duplicate stakeholders
Merge duplicate stakeholder records into a single primary record while keeping linked documents, forms and related people together.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the merge duplicates dialog
From the stakeholder list, select two or more duplicate stakeholder records of the same type (all people or all companies), then choose the option to merge them to open the Merge duplicates dialog.

Step 2: Review selected stakeholders
In the dialog, review the list of selected stakeholders, including their names, email addresses and counts of linked documents, forms and people to confirm you are merging the correct records.

Step 3: Choose the primary stakeholder record
Select which stakeholder record you want to keep as the primary; by default, the record with the most linked documents, forms and people is suggested, but you can change this selection before proceeding.

Step 4: Check merge eligibility and warnings
Confirm that all selected records are of the same type and review any warnings shown, such as being unable to merge if different stakeholder types are selected or if only people-type stakeholders are allowed to merge under specific rules.

Step 5: Preview what will be merged
When available, review the merge preview to see which linked documents, forms and people will be transferred into the chosen primary stakeholder record.

Step 6: Confirm and run the merge
When the merge criteria are met, select the merge action; the system will show a loading indicator while merging and then close the dialog once the duplicates have been successfully combined into the primary record.

Step 7: Close the dialog after merging
After the merge completes, close the dialog to return to the stakeholder list, where only the primary stakeholder record will remain.
