Understand record status using the status chip
Use the status chip to quickly understand the state of any record, with consistent labels, colours and icons across the workspace.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Recognise the status chip beside a record
Locate the rounded status chip next to a record; it shows a colour, icon and short label that summarise the record’s current state.

Step 2: Read the status label to understand the state
Read the text label on the chip (for example "In progress" or "Needs attention") to understand what stage the record is currently in.

Step 3: Use the muted domain detail for extra context
When shown, read the muted domain-specific phrase beside the chip (for example "Changes requested") for more actionable detail about what is happening.

Step 4: Compare statuses consistently across views
Rely on the chip’s label and icon to compare the status of records in lists, boards and detail pages, knowing the same state is presented consistently everywhere.
