Record an ITP inspection item outcome

Record the outcome of a single ITP inspection item, including hold-point sign-off where required.

Audience

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Review the inspection item details

Open the inspection item from the QR code link and review the item information and hold-point type so you understand what is being inspected and whether a signature is required.

Step 2: Choose the inspection outcome

Select Pass, Fail, or N/A to record the inspection result; this selection is stored locally so it is not lost if the network connection drops before submission.

Step 3: Add notes for context (optional)

Enter any supporting notes to explain the outcome, such as reasons for failure, site conditions, or references to other documents; these notes remain in place if you need to retry submission.

Step 4: Capture witness name and signature for hold points

For hold or witness points, ask the witnessing person to type their full name and sign in the signature box so the clearance is independently auditable.

Step 5: Submit the inspection result

Submit the outcome so it is sent to the ITP public service; if there is a network or server error, an on-screen message explains the issue and all entered data is kept, allowing you to correct any problems or retry later without re-entering details.
