Manage BS 5975 authorisations for a temporary works item

Configure and manage the BS 5975 authorisation matrix for a specific temporary works item, including assigning roles and issuing sign-off invitations.

Steps

Step 1: Open the authorisations tab for the temporary works item

Navigate to the chosen temporary works item and open the "Authorisations" tab to view the BS 5975 authorisation matrix for that item.

Step 2: Review required BS 5975 roles and their status

In the matrix, review each required role (TWS, Designer, Independent Checker, Contractor TWC, Site Manager), checking the assigned person (or email) and the current status pill for each role.

Step 3: Assign or change the named individual for a role

For any role that is unassigned or needs changing, select the relevant row to open the assignment dialog, then choose a project member or enter an external email address and confirm to save the assignment.

Step 4: Invite the named individual to sign

Once the correct person is assigned to a role, use the "Invite to sign" option to send a one-shot sign-on link so they can provide their BS 5975 sign-off for that role.

Step 5: Monitor sign-off progress and status updates

After sending invitations, monitor the status pills in the matrix; they will update to show whether the invitation is pending, completed, or requires attention, helping you track progress towards full authorisation.

Step 6: Remove an incorrect or obsolete authorisation assignment

If an assignment has been made in error or is no longer valid, use the remove option in the relevant row, confirm the removal in the confirmation dialog, and then reassign the role if needed.
