Understand PDF preview source labels
Use the PDF preview chip to confirm which original document type a preview was generated from before opening or downloading files.

Steps
Step 1: Identify the PDF preview chip for Word documents
When viewing a document generated from Word, locate the chip labelled "PDF preview · Word" to confirm the preview is based on the original Word file and read the description explaining it is a PDF snapshot of the original Word document.
Step 2: Identify the PDF preview chip for Excel documents
When reviewing a document generated from Excel, look for the chip labelled "PDF preview · Excel" and use the accompanying description to confirm it is a PDF snapshot of the original Excel document before downloading the source file if needed.
Step 3: Recognise generic PDF preview chips for other formats
For files from other formats such as PowerPoint, check the chip text "PDF preview · [Format]" and read the generic description stating it is a PDF snapshot of the original document to understand the relationship between the preview and its source.
