Record actual impacts for an event
Use this dialog to record when an event actually occurred and capture the real financial impacts across different categories and confidence levels.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the materialise event dialog
From the event actions, open the materialise dialog to start recording that the event has actually occurred; the dialog opens with today’s date pre-filled and empty impact rows.

Step 2: Confirm the event date
In the Occurred date field, review the default date (set to today) and adjust it if the event occurred on a different day so the actual impacts are recorded against the correct date.

Step 3: Add contextual notes
In the Notes area, enter any relevant context about what happened, such as root cause, affected teams, or key decisions, so others can understand the circumstances of the actual event.

Step 4: Add an actual impact line
Select the Add impact button to create a new impact row; a default category, amount of 0, description field, and medium confidence are added for you to customise.

Step 5: Set impact category, amount and description
For each impact row, choose the appropriate impact category, enter the actual monetary amount in the specified currency, and describe what the impact represents so financial effects are clearly documented.

Step 6: Adjust confidence level
For each impact, select the confidence level that best reflects how certain you are about the amount, helping stakeholders understand the reliability of each figure.

Step 7: Review total actual impact
Check the automatically calculated total actual impact across all rows to verify that the overall amount looks correct before saving.

Step 8: Remove unwanted impact rows
If you have added an impact line by mistake or no longer need it, use the delete option on that row to remove it from the calculation.

Step 9: Submit the materialised impacts
When you are satisfied with the date, notes and impact lines, select the submit button to save the materialised event; the dialog shows a loading state while submitting, and on success it closes and your event list is updated.
