Configure an automation trigger

Configure event-based triggers that automatically run an agent task when specific activity occurs in your project, such as documents being uploaded or tasks being completed.

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Open the trigger builder

From your automation or agents area, open the trigger builder to start creating a new trigger for your selected project.

Step 2: Choose the event that will start the trigger

On the Event step, browse or filter the list of available events (such as document created, task completed, or form submitted) and select the specific event that should activate the trigger.

Step 3: Select the agent to run when the event occurs

On the Agent step, use the agent selector to choose which agent should be executed when the selected event happens in your project.

Step 4: Choose the agent task to perform

On the Details step, pick the specific task the selected agent should run, such as processing a document, updating a record, or sending a notification.

Step 5: Map event data to task inputs

Configure input mappings so that fields from the event payload (for example, document ID, assignee, or form values) are passed into the agent task inputs, adjusting operators and conditions where available.

Step 6: Add any trigger conditions or filters

Optionally define conditions that must be met for the trigger to run, such as specific statuses, field values, or thresholds, using the available comparison operators.

Step 7: Review and confirm the trigger

On the Review step, check the selected event, agent, task, mappings, and conditions, then confirm to create the trigger or go back to adjust any details before saving.
