Configure an automated agent trigger

Set up automated triggers so that an agent runs a specific task whenever a chosen event happens in your project.

Audience

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Choose the event that will start the trigger

Open the trigger builder and select the type of event that should start the automation, such as a document being uploaded, a task being completed, or a comment being created. Use the event categories (Documents, PlanOps Project Documents, Tasks, Forms, Comments) to narrow down the list and click the event you want to use.

Step 2: Select the agent to run when the event occurs

Use the Agent selector to pick which agent should respond when the selected event happens. Review the available agents for your project and click the one that best fits the workflow you want to automate.

Step 3: Configure task details, input mappings, and conditions

Choose the specific task the agent should execute, then map event data fields to the task’s input fields so the agent receives the right context. Optionally add conditions and filters using operators like equals, contains, or greater than so the trigger only runs when the event data matches your criteria.

Step 4: Review and create the trigger

On the review step, check the selected event, agent, task, field mappings, and conditions. If needed, use the back buttons to make changes. When you are satisfied, confirm to create the trigger so it will automatically run whenever the event conditions are met.
