Running an agent task from start to finish
An agent task is a helper that does one job for you — like checking a document or writing up a report — while you get on with something else. This guide shows you the whole thing in plain steps — where to go, how to find the task you need, how to run it, and how to get your result once it's done.
This guide is designed for construction professional.
Steps
Step 1: Open your project
Sign in and open the project you're working on. Everything an agent can do for you lives inside a project, so you need one open first.

If you can't see your project, check with whoever set you up — you may need to be added to it.
Step 2: Go to the agent (the assistant area)
Open the agent view for your project. This is where the helpers live. You'll see a list of tasks the agent can do for you.

Step 3: Find the task you want
Scroll down the list to find the job you need doing, or type a word or two into the search box to jump straight to it — for example "report" or "document". Each task has a name that tells you what it does.

The tasks on the list depend on what your project has been set up with, so your list may look different from a workmate's.
Step 4: Open the task
Click the task you want. It opens up and shows you the boxes it needs you to fill in. Every task is a bit different, so what you see here changes depending on the job.

Step 5: Fill in what the task asks for
Type in the details the task asks for. This might be a short description of what you want, a date, or a choice from a drop-down. The clearer you are, the better the result comes back.

Step 6: Add any documents it needs
Some tasks ask you to attach a document, a report, or a file. If you see a picker or an upload box, choose the file from your project or drag one in. If a task doesn't ask for a file, skip this.

Only some tasks need a file — don't worry if yours doesn't show this.
Step 7: Check the cost and start it
You'll usually see how many Intelligence Units (IU credits) the task uses before you run it. When you're happy, press the button to start. The system checks everything's in order and hands the job to the agent.

Step 8: Let it run while you carry on
A message shows you the task is working. It runs quietly in the background, so you don't have to sit and wait — go and do something else and come back to it.

Step 9: Open the finished task
When the task says it's done, click to open it. If you've left the page, you can find it again in the list of recent tasks for your agent, marked as completed.

If a task says it failed, open it anyway — it usually tells you in plain words what went wrong so you can try again.
Step 10: Read and use your result
The result is laid out on the page for you to read. Depending on the task, this might be a written summary, a report, or a new document. Read it through, and use the copy or download option if you want to save it or share it with your team.
