Generate a project report document
Use the Generate Document dialog to create or regenerate structured project reports from templates and send them to selected recipients.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the Generate Document dialog
From your reports area, select the option to create or regenerate a document to open the Generate Document dialog with the document wizard.

Step 2: Choose a report template
Use the searchable template list to pick the appropriate report or document type for your project, then continue to the next step.

Step 3: Review or set document title and basic details
Confirm or edit the document title and any basic fields provided by the template defaults so the report is clearly identified.

Step 4: Complete required user input fields
Fill in the form fields requested by the template, such as dates, project information, and custom data, ensuring all required inputs are provided.

Step 5: Configure section content and focus areas
Review and edit the content fields for each report section, using any suggested generated text where available and adjusting wording to fit the project context.

Step 6: Manage custom fields and overrides
Add or adjust custom fields and overrides for the document, or clear overrides if you want to return to the template defaults.

Step 7: Select recipients and notification options
Use the recipient picker to choose who should receive the generated document, reuse previous recipients if available, and set notification preferences.

Step 8: Review the generation summary
Check the confirmation summary to see the selected template, key inputs, recipients, and notifications before generating the document.

Step 9: Generate or regenerate the document
Submit the form to generate a new document version, wait for processing to complete, and confirm the success message when generation finishes.
