Review and manage report document previews
Use the document preview panel to review report content, adjust status, export or download, and, where allowed, save a new version.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the document preview panel
Select a report from your list; the document preview panel opens showing the title, status, and key details for the selected virtual document.

Step 2: Review document content and metadata
Scroll through the rendered document content and review metadata such as current status, timestamps, and any warnings or validation messages shown in the header.

Step 3: Download the document as PDF
Click the download icon or "Download" button in the panel toolbar to generate and save a PDF version of the document to your computer.

Step 4: Export the document to a project
Use the "Export to project" action to add the current document to your selected project workspace; the export indicator shows while the process completes.

Step 5: Mark or unmark the document as a favourite
Toggle the favourite star in the header to quickly flag or unflag this document for easier access in your favourites list.

Step 6: Change the document status and current flag
If you have permission, open the status dropdown to update the document status and indicate whether it should be treated as the current version, then apply your changes.

Step 7: Switch between preview and full-screen view
Click the full-view icon to expand the document into a dedicated full-screen view for easier reading, and close it when you are ready to return to the panel.

Step 8: Start editing the document content
If editing is enabled, select the edit option to switch the preview into an editable HTML or markdown field where you can update the document content.

Step 9: Update the HTML or markdown content
Enter or paste your revised content into the editor; the panel sanitises and renders the HTML preview so you can confirm the formatting before saving.

Step 10: Save a new version of the document
Click "Save new version" to submit your changes; the panel calls the save action, creates a new virtual document version, and refreshes the preview once saving completes.

Step 11: Cancel editing without saving changes
Use the cancel option to discard any unsaved edits and return to the read-only preview of the existing document version.

Step 12: Close the document preview panel
When you have finished reviewing or editing, click the close icon to hide the panel and return to your main reports view.
