Change a document’s status from the detail view

Use the inline status control on a document’s detail row to quickly update its workflow status without opening the full editor.

Steps

Step 1: Open the document detail view

Navigate to the relevant document and open its detail view so you can see the unified action row at the top of the page.

Step 2: Locate the status dropdown control

In the action row, find the status control showing the current status label beside a coloured dot and a chevron icon.

Step 3: Open the list of available statuses

Select the status control to open the dropdown menu and review the list of status options available for this document type.

Step 4: Choose the new status

Select the desired status option from the menu; the control will ignore selections that match the current status.

Step 5: Wait for the status to be saved

After you select a new status, wait while the inline spinner shows that the change is being saved, then confirms with the updated label and dot colour.

Step 6: Check for disabled status changes

If the control appears disabled, hover or check your permissions, as you will not be able to change the document status until access is granted.
