Manage your Gantt chart view

Use the Gantt toolbar to move through the schedule, adjust the zoom level, filter tasks, and export the current Gantt view.

Steps

Step 1: Navigate backwards in the schedule

Select the left arrow button in the toolbar to move the visible Gantt timeline to the previous period based on the current zoom level (week, month, quarter, or year).

Step 2: Navigate forwards in the schedule

Select the right arrow button in the toolbar to move the visible Gantt timeline to the next period, allowing you to review upcoming work.

Step 3: Jump back to today

Use the Today button in the toolbar to instantly re-centre the Gantt chart on the current date if you have navigated away from it.

Step 4: Change the zoom level of the Gantt chart

Open the zoom selector in the toolbar and choose Week, Month, Quarter, or Year to change how much of the schedule is visible at once.

Step 5: Show or hide filter controls

Select the Filter button in the toolbar to expand or collapse the filter panel, where you can refine which tasks are shown on the Gantt chart.

Step 6: Filter tasks by status

In the filter panel, toggle one or more status options (such as Pending, In progress, Completed, On hold, or Cancelled) to include or exclude tasks with those statuses from the chart.

Step 7: Filter tasks by priority

In the filter panel, toggle one or more priority options (such as Low, Medium, High, or Critical) so that only tasks with the selected priorities are displayed.

Step 8: Show only critical path tasks

In the filter panel, enable the option to display only tasks that are on the critical path, helping you focus on activities that directly affect your project end date.

Step 9: Show only slipped tasks

In the filter panel, enable the option to show only slipped tasks so that you can quickly identify work that is behind schedule.

Step 10: Review how many tasks are currently visible

Check the task count indicator in the toolbar to see how many tasks are currently displayed on the Gantt chart compared with the total number of tasks in the programme.

Step 11: Export the current Gantt chart view

Select the Download button in the toolbar to export the current Gantt chart view using your organisation’s configured export format.
