Set up your first project in PlanOps

Use the first-run onboarding modal to name and create your first construction project, or try a sample project to explore PlanOps safely.

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps​

Step 1: Open the first-run onboarding modal​

When you sign in to PlanOps for the first time, the welcome modal opens automatically with a short introduction and Q&A panel explaining how projects work.

Step 2: Review the welcome information​

Read the welcome message "Welcome to PlanOps. Let's set up your first project." and the Q&A panel sections such as "Just getting started?" to understand what projects are and how many you can create.

Step 3: Confirm the default Construction stage​

Check that the project stage selector shows Construction as selected, with other stages like pre-construction, design and handover currently unavailable for change during first-time setup.

Step 4: Enter a project name​

Type a clear, descriptive name for your new project in the project name field so that other team members can easily recognise it later.

Step 5: Create your first project​

Select the option to create a project; if the project name is empty you will see the message "Give your project a name to continue." and must add a name before the project can be created.

Step 6: Try a sample project instead (optional)​

If you are not ready to add a real project, choose the sample project option to explore PlanOps with example data without affecting live work.
