View full text for truncated content

Use truncated text areas to keep layouts tidy while still being able to see the full content on hover or focus.

Audience

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Identify truncated text

Look for text that ends with an ellipsis or appears cut off after one to three lines within lists, tables, or cards. This indicates that the TruncatedText feature is limiting what is shown to keep the layout neat.

Step 2: Reveal the full text

Move your mouse cursor over the truncated text (or focus it using keyboard navigation). A tooltip will appear next to the text, showing the complete content that does not fit in the visible area.

Step 3: Review long entries without changing the layout

Read the full text in the tooltip to understand long titles, descriptions, or labels while preserving the compact page layout. Move your cursor away or change focus to hide the tooltip when finished.
